March: Annual Meeting and GCWA Writers Contest Winners
The March meeting includes the annual business meeting, the election of officers for 2012, the announcement of winners of the GCWA Writers Contest, and a pot luck dinner. Members who bring food can attend FREE. Please bring a dish large enough to feed six people. Those who do not bring food will pay $5 at the door.
The March annual meeting will be held in the Fellowship Hall at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2439 McGregor Blvd, Fort Myers - just south of the Edison Estate. [map]
Three ammendments to the GCWA Bylaws and Constitution have been proposed. Please review them so you can vote on them at our March Annual Meeting.
- Proposed Bylaws Ammendment (recommended by the Executive Board.)
- Proposed Constitution Ammendment (recommended by the Executive Board.)
- Proposed Bylaws Ammendment.

April Speaker (Poetry Month): Dorothy Brooks
Dorothy Howe Brooks is a local writer of poetry and fiction and a member of GCWA. Over the years, Dorothy’s work has appeared in numerous literary journals, including Hampden-Sydney Poetry Review, Poet Lore, Iron Horse Literary Review, Poem, Windhover, Louisiana Literature, and Alabama Literary Review, as well as the anthology, If I Had My Life To Live Over I Would Pick More Daisies, published by Papier-Mache Press. Her poetry chapbook, Simple Fracture, was published in 1996 by New Spirit Press, and her 2nd poetry chapbook, Interstices, was published in 2009 by Finishing Line Press.
